Campus Vibes brought to you by I.M.Fly

Every so often I.M.Fly will look to influential personalities from the urban scene to write a blog post on what's new and cool. Our first installment is written by DJ Die-it- Coke, a creative and "out of the box" disc jockey that prides himself on being different! Stay Fly!

After having a few beverages at a hip hop inspired night on St Laurent a few weeks ago I began to lose myself in this one track the DJ was spinning. The intricate drum patterns, amazing use of samples, synths, and electronica based effects had me craving more. The artist addiction I possessed was for Montreal native Lunice. Where in just a few years he has quickly risen to the top of the Montreal electronica scene. From playing Montreal’s Bass Fest to gigging on Concordia’s Loyola Campus and now scheduled to do a cross european tour how can anyone deny this guy and his talent. His “SWAG” inspired hip hop beats gelled with various rappers and MC’s creates a sound so original but also with a sense of familiarity.

Lunice’s new EP “One Hunned”, simply put, is just MASSIVE. With tracks like “Glow” that embody the listener into at atmospherical sense of beauty, to tracks like “I See U” that lead you into one absolutely sick massive bass line. The whole EP is a banger and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Hip Hop beats but with an infusion of electronica. Its sure to make any listener a fan. “Bricks” is hands down my favorite track off the “One Hunned” EP and this is the one I choose to share with you guys. Sit back, chill out, and get hunned up. Cheers, D.I.C.
